With a number of transport apps available, it is a hassle to open each app and compare to find the nearest and the cheapest one. Instago is a platform that acts as a meta transport aggregator, enabling users to find the closest available cabs, autos, bikes, taxis and public transport options around you and compare their ETAs and prices, thereby saving their time and money.
Founded in 2015 by Aneesh Seth, Anmol Ahlawat and Nakul Khanna, Instago currently is operating the intra-city version and aims to extend to inter-city as well. It has partnered with players such as Ola, Easycabs, Jugnoo etc. to display real-time fares and ETAs. It does not allow in-app bookings and redirects user to the landing page of Ola, Uber or other apps.
Instago makes money by a commission on every ride made through their app. They have over 5,000+ downloads of their product and is currently bootstrapped. “We are in talks to close our seed round of funding with institutional investors and a few angels. We currently monetize through commissions earned on every ride but are looking at location-based ads and gamification to add to the revenue streams. We are looking at innovative, fun and organic ways to grow and we don’t believe in simply burning through money to get users.,” Nakul said in an interview with BWDisrupt.
If you keep multiple on-demand transport apps on your smartphone, then this app is a great option for you to compare all the travel modes and find the cheapest and the quickest way to get to your destination. The startup is also working on the response time and in-app bookings feature to allow users to avail the desired mode of transport instantly.
