Fitard: Eat, Burn & Get Rewarded!

Founded in October 2015 by Shubham Goyal, Pankaj Singh Bora and Prashant Chourasia, Fitard is a fitness startup, which motivates its users to move towards a fit, active and healthier lifestyle. It is a fitness tracking app that engages its users through competition and rewards them with Fitcoins, a virtual currency, on completion of targets.

The startup has tied up with more than 25 companies including FreshMenu,Truweight, Fiticket, HealthyWorld.in, True Elements, HolaChef, Yumist, Zimmber etc., whoa act as its reward partners and in return, get a social platform to market their products and services.

The app offers various public and private fitness challenges. Public challenges are open to everyone and are sponsored by the partnering brands, who give rewards to the top three or five winners. Private challenges are for friends and family who compete with and monitor each other. Fitard has Google Fit integrated into it, which helps it detect cycling, swimming, walking, running and other activities done by the users. The app tracks user’s steps automatically.

The bootstrapped startup plans to raise funding in the near future and claims to have 500+ Daily Active Users with 3000+ downloads and 25+ partners. It is currently live in 4 cities namely- Mumbai, Bangalore Gurgaon and Pune. Its Android app is rated 4.6 on Google Play and the company is currently working on its iOS app, which it said, would be launched soon.

Fitard Technology Pvt. Ltd, which runs Fitard, has two revenue streams presently. First, it charges the reward partners for marketing and brand building/discovery services. Another revenue stream is the fees paid by doctors and nutritionists to access the data on a user’s physical fitness, gym sessions and fitness challenges that he successfully clears.

There are more than 2.5 billion smartphone users worldwide with India having around 200 million. Fitard plans to target the critical masses with its simple and easy mobile platform.
